Iris Chang on my mind

I started reading The Rape of Nanking and wanted to know more about the author's other publications. I Googled her name and found out that she committed suicide in 2004. I was shocked and upset to hear this devastating news but was intrigued when I read in Wikipedia that she became paranoid and thought she was being followed by the CIA or other organizations. She left a note saying that her stay at a hospital for her mental issues was a ploy by the government to discredit her.
After reading about her death, it's been hard for me not to think about her. She was a brilliant woman and I am very proud of her to have written such an amazing book documenting the cruel and brutal massacre of the Chinese people. I hope I can be as courageous as her.
